Plum Creek Launches Public Art Initiative
This summer, Plum Creek is rolling out “Rock the Porch,” a public art initiative that will beautify and enhance the neighborhood and the greater Kyle community. Similar to the Cow Parade of Chicago and Guitar Town up in Austin, “Rock the Porch” will manifest in the creation of 15 artistic rocking chairs that will be placed in the public spaces of Plum Creek and within the greater Kyle community.
Plum Creek is currently looking for artists, groups and individuals with an innovative or creative streak to participate in the initiative so the pieces will be unique (maybe even a little weird) and tailored to the areas in which they will be placed. Think something like a fur-covered chair for the dog park, or a rocking chair that looks more like a children’s playscape than an actual chair. More information will be available on the Plum Creek website soon.

Texas State Men's and Women's Golf enters into land lease partnership with Plum Creek Golf Course
The Jim and Carol West Golf Practice Facility at Plum Creek will become reality thanks to a generous donation made by Jim and Carol West. The facility will include two 7,000 square foot practice greens for putting, pitching, chipping, and bunker practice, as well as a driving range with a 12,000 square foot tee box. Plans have been made for the practice facility to include a 1,200 square foot building with two indoor hitting bays, a SAM putting lab, teaching cameras, and an office/common area that will look out over the range. Austin Community College Hays Groundbreaking Recap
On Wednesday June 27th, Austin Community College (ACC) broke ground on the campus in Plum Creek, which will be the first community college in northern Hays County. More than 800 people attended the groundbreaking event at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center in Kyle, Texas.
The ACC Hays campus is slated to open in Spring 2014, and will feature a number of amenities including a library and media center, a student life center, and various learning, computer and science labs. More...
Austin Community College Groundbreaking Ceremony
On June 27th, Austin Community College will break ground on the new ACC Hays campus in Plum Creek at Kohler's Crossing and Kyle Parkway. The public groundbreaking ceremony will take place at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center at 10 a.m. and will feature live music, a college fair and refreshments.
The three-story ACC Hays campus will occupy 98 acres of land in Plum Creek and will offer core curriculum / academic transfer courses, as well as career education in specialized business programs, computer networking and security, child development, and first responder programs. Construction will begin later this summer.
The Overlook at Plum Creek Groundbreaking Ceremony

Plum Creek Golf Course Expansion
This week, 5/14, the Plum Creek Golf Course begins a three-month construction and renovation project that will update and expand the golf course's practice offerings. The effort will include the relocation of the course's existing driving range, as well as the creation of a complete practice facility, close to the clubhouse, that will include a chipping green and multiple putting surfaces. The updated practice facility is expected to be up-and-running by fall 2012.

CitVoters in Hays Consolidated Independent School District approved annexation into the Austin Community College taxing district during the November elections. As a result, a North Hays ACC campus is planned for the Kyle neighborhood of Plum Creek.

Plum Creek announces new builder: National Builder of the Year in 2005 - Bigelow Homes
Plum Creek is built on the principles of New Urbanism, which include walkable neighborhoods with shops, schools and community amenities near homes. Austin Community College contracts 96 acres in Plum Creek for North Hays County Campus
Austin Community College has agreed to purchase 96 acres in Kyle for $9.84 million. The land is located in the Plum Creek area, near the intersection of Kohlers Crossing and Kyle Parkway, next to a planned commuter rail line.
